Helldivers 2 has been thriving since The Game Awards. The recent Omens of Tyranny update delivered everything fans had been anticipating – melee weapons, vehicles, and the elusive Illuminate. The game has seen a surge in player count, reclaiming its position among Steam’s top games.

Helldivers 2 Proves Easier Can Be Better
“No pain, no gain” isn’t always the best policy. Sometimes, making it easier on the players can increase playtime and activity.
It’s remarkable how far Helldivers 2 has come from its troubled past, with a significant drop in player count due to nerfs and content deficiencies. The recent progress has overshadowed the game’s previous issues, except for one lingering problem – the Democracy Space Station, a.k.a. the DSS.
Helldivers 2 Community Gives Suggestions For Improving The DSS
Following intense effort and numerous Major Orders, the Helldivers finally operationalized their version of the Death Star. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a major letdown as it indiscriminately bombarded friend and foe alike. In response to the criticism, Arrowhead assured players that the DSS would undergo adjustments to be combat-ready against the Illuminate.
On the Helldivers 2 Subreddit, a post by TripleWhiskeyShot sparked a discussion among players regarding their desires for Super Earth’s superweapon. One comment suggested, “It could be 380 still, but with a delay and warning signal similar to the Mortar warning from Automatons. Also, adding a zone marker or something on the map.” Others advocated for a complete overhaul of the DSS weapon systems. One suggestion proposed that “they should replace the constant barrage with orbital lasers from the DSS, transforming it from a WW1 artillery nightmare to a laser rave party.” While the visual of orbital lasers sounds appealing, it may border on being too overpowered.
Another intriguing suggestion proposed, “Have the DSS drop a shield generator at the center so you can either run away or run into the shield. This maintains some chaos while providing fair warning and a chance to escape or seek protection under the shield during the chaos.” The chaotic scenario of being surrounded by mayhem while shielded does sound like a scene straight out of the game.
