Do you love your gaming? Well, chances are that you’ll want to pick yourself up a game console. Now has never been a better time to do it, either. We’re midway through the generation of two game consoles and coming to the end of a generation for another. This means tons and tons of games to play (which is awesome). Let’s explore what’s available.
Infinix Hot Pro 40
If you’re into mobile gaming, the Infinix Hot 40 Pro is looking to stand out in 2024. While not big in most Western markets, Infinix is very popular in countries such as Nigeria, the Philippines, and Indonesia. This phone has been designed with gamers first in mind and comes equipped with ‘XArena gaming suite’, a feature that optimizes the phone’s gaming performance.
With mobile gaming only set to continue its meteoric rise in popularity, it’s no wonder companies like Infinix are looking to service these customers with more powerful and convenient gaming tech. But mobile gaming’s rise can’t just be attributed to new technologies. Platforms host an astonishing variety of games, from casual puzzles to iGaming–which is experiencing a synergistic surge in popularity–and cater to the millions of smartphone users globally. Poker apps in particular, have seen a huge rise in popularity, with experts suggesting their market share value could reach over $280b by 2032. A growing market inevitably increases competition, which has helped guide traditional poker on LeoVegas to become fully optimised for mobile gaming and devices. As player habits continue to shift towards gaming on the go, the Infinix Hot Pro 40 is one of the standout devices to keep an eye on.
PlayStation 5
PlayStation 5 is selling massively well, thanks to top games like Spiderman, Resident Evil 4, The Last of Us: Remastered, Final Fantasy 7 remake, and more. While Sony has stated that they don’t have that many games lined up for the latter part of 2024, you’ve got a whole selection to choose from (plus several awesome games from the PS4, which work with the PS5’s backward compatibility).
We know that the PlayStation 5 is the most expensive game console on this list, but if you’re looking for access to the largest selection of games (with some of Microsoft’s games soon to be launched onto the console), then you can’t do much better.
PlayStation 5 will be around for a while, too, with plenty of third-party exclusives set to hit the format.
Xbox Series X/S
We know the Xbox Series X/S is nowhere near Microsoft’s most popular console, but we’ve enjoyed it. This is because Microsoft is doing many cool things with the console that other consoles aren’t doing right.
The biggest highlight is Game Pass, where for around $10 per month, you can download a huge number of games to your Xbox, including every single first-party Microsoft game available on Day 1. No other format does that. This means that you could have played epic games like Halo, Sea of Thieves, or even Starfield on the day they were released.
While Microsoft doesn’t have quite the number of games on the Xbox as the other formats had, we think this may be one of the cheapest ways to game, especially if you pick up the Xbox Series S.
