Destiny 2‘s Year 4 and 5 are expanding the game’s universe in a way that many past Seasons didn’t, in preparation for the Light and Darkness saga to end with The Final Shape expansion in 2024. An example comes from the new Nezarec’s Whisper glaive in Season of the Haunted, which built on existing lore surrounding the mysterious Nezarec – suggesting they may be one of The Witness’ disciples. Yet, there are still many mysteries that the franchise can and should explore in the years to come, especially if Bungie has plans for decades of Destiny 2 content.
