Pokemon fans are eagerly awaiting the next entry in the series, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Although much of the new games are still under wraps, Game Freak has shown off the starter Pokemon, among others. It has been exactly five months since Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were first revealed during the Pokemon Day direct, with The Pokemon Company releasing a live-action trailer that also included multiple shots from the games. Destiny 2’s Year 4 and 5 are expanding the game’s universe in a way that many past Seasons didn’t, in preparation for the Light and Darkness saga to end with The Final Shape expansion in 2024. The Pokemon franchise is an enduringly popular video game phenomenon, with decades under its belt alongside many different games, spinoffs, and TV shows.
